Jon Erwin’s latest project, “House of David,” brings David’s story to life with a focus on faith, leadership and God’s providence. Known for “Jesus Revolution” and “I Can Only Imagine,” Erwin co-directs this biblical drama with Jon Gunn.
Michael Iskander stars as David, alongside Ali Suliman as King Saul and Stephen Lang as the prophet Samuel. Erwin praised Iskander’s casting: “Finding Michael and getting to work with him has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.”
The series follows David’s rise from obscurity, his anointing by Samuel, his tense relationship with Saul and his defining moments as a warrior and king. The first trailer teases sweeping battle sequences, political intrigue and the personal struggles that shaped him.
Erwin sees the Prime Video partnership as key: “We’re thrilled to be working with a company that understands and supports our mission and our audience in such a groundbreaking way.”
